Day 1 - Garden's By The Bay

Revitalised by some quality ice-cream at Cold Stone which is a personal favourite of the the annual PLC THIMUN Tour we travelled to the Gardens By The Bay which comprises of the two air-conditioned domes, the Flower and the Cloud Forest Dome. These were two enormous award winning greenhouse styled conservatories. We were only able to enter the Cloud Forest Dome as the Flower Dome was best viewed in more natural light than was available to us.

In the Cloud Forest Dome we were greeted by a huge waterfall which originated from the top of the mountain of plants in the seven floor structure. As we wandered along the paths which lead to the top of the structure we viewed bright flowers, floating ferns and incredible stalagmites. We journeyed to the Lost World right at the top of the dome and then made our way back down along the Cloud Walk finally stopping at the bottom to view the effects of Global Warming on these environments. It was an unbelievable structure which blew all of us away and the true finesse of the building can only be appreciated through viewing it in the real. This building also gave us an insight into the effect of global warming into the future on the world and fascinated the science minded people among the group. It provided for many awesome photo opportunities which we will try and share with you on the blog.
