Day 2 - Tour of Chinatown

To finish off our second day in the wonderful city of Singapore, we had a tour of Chinatown. To begin the tour, everyone got a fan with their name painted on it in Chinese characters. We then had an enjoyable dinner at a Chinese restaurant, with a variety of meals including curries, fried rice and mango pudding for dessert! After we finished eating, we were let loose in the street markets of Chinatown for some shopping. There were many quirky and inexpensive souvenirs on offer, from Chinese prints to glow-in-the-dark t-shirts! Next up, we had a trishaw ride. A trishaw is essentially a small, 2-person carriage attached to a bicycle. We all got into a trishaw in pairs and were ridden around the city for 15 minutes. Some of the trishaw even had radios attached to them so we got to listen to Singlish music as we were ridden along the roads of Singapore at night. It was so much fun and an unforgettable experience! To finish of a marvellous tour, we took a night-time boat ride along the Singapore River, which allowed us to see sights such as the Singapore lion fountain, the Singapore Flyer and the Singapore Marina Bay Sands Hotel, which were especially beautiful as they were all lit up at night. The tour was overall an amazing experience and one I'm sure we'll never forget...
